Gepotidacin
Alternative Names: Blujepa
Blujepa (gepotidacin) is a newer oral antibiotic approved for uncomplicated gonorrhea. Unlike traditional treatments that often require an injection, Blujepa is taken by mouth and works through a different mechanism than older antibiotics, which may help treat some resistant strains of gonorrhea. In clinical studies, it was generally effective and well tolerated, with nausea and diarrhea being the most common side effects. It represents one of the first major new gonorrhea treatment options introduced in many years.
