Tresiba (insulin degludec) is an ultra-long-acting basal insulin used to manage blood sugar in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It provides a steady release of insulin for over 42 hours, allowing for flexible once-daily dosing at different times of day without losing effectiveness. Tresiba starts working within 1–2 hours and has no significant peak, which helps lower the risk of hypoglycemia. It is often used alongside rapid-acting insulin or other diabetes medications. Tresiba is available in prefilled pens and comes in multiple strengths, including U-100 and U-200.
