Rubber band ligation
Rubber Band Ligation (RBL) is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure used to treat internal hemorrhoids (Grade I-III). It is one of the most common and effective treatments for hemorrhoids that cause bleeding or discomfort.
A small rubber band is placed around the base of the internal hemorrhoid, cutting off its blood supply. Over the next 5–7 days, the hemorrhoid shrinks, dies, and falls off during a bowel movement. Scar tissue forms where the hemorrhoid was, helping to prevent recurrence.
